Lace Wigs VS Braiding
Braiding salons, have you found that because of the economic climate that more women are using Lace Wigs instead of braiding or weaving their hair and have you found that a few months later, those using lace wigs are loosing the hair edges?
Can Anyone Help in Korean Translation
Dear Readers,
Please notice the amount of response comments on this blog that are in Korean. I do not know what these comments mean but I know that it cannot be complimentry, since I am speaking the truth about how Black People are being used and manipulated by the Koreans as it is related to the Beauty Industry.
It is so unfortunate that our people are mear consumers in the multi-billion dollars beauty and hair supply business. The questions need to be asked, why can't we support our businesses, why are we being locked out of the importation and distribution of hair and beauty supplies. Why can't our people form a union and keep more of our monies in our communities. When was the last time that you have seen a Korean business person making a contribution to anything that is associated with Black Folks, have they made any contribution to the NAACP or any relevant organizations.

Hair Braiding and the Koreans
Hair braiding is an art that is right out of Africa, yet more recently, people of other nationalities are attepting to buy us out just like the Africans that sold their brothers and sisters into slavery. I now see that several braiders are taking up shop in Korean owned beauty supply stores, this selling out.
Many of the Korean merchants refuse to wholesale hair to braiding salons at the lobbying of the beauty supply shops. The braiders that work out of these beauty supply shops must realize that they are being used, this is just like the Koreans now run many of the "Sould Food" restaurants in the DC metro area. Let us preserve what is ours.

The Business of Human Hair
The business of Human Hair is a multi-billion dollar one, and the primary beneficaries of those dollars are the Koreans here in America. When has the Koreans made a single contributit on to the African American community, never, yet everyday we are making them rich by purchasing "human hair" that actually comes from an animal called the YAK.
I run a braiding salon, and at times have found it very difficult to purchase hair from Korean merchants because they want to keep the profits from "hair" with the Korean community. I am thinking that now that we know that these Korean merchants that sell us this Yak hair as human hair that we start a national boycott until the truth is revealed and the "human hair" pricing is normalize. I find that several of the synthetic hair fibers works just as well as the "human hair", food for thought.
Take a look at my blog on the Yak hair as human hair and you will see that most of the response are in Korean or Chinese, meny of them might be cussing at me because of this revelation.

Is Yak Hair Human Hair?
Imagine the hair of this animal in your hair, well it might just be so. The Yaki Human hair the we pay so much money for might have taken it name from the Yak. The Yak is is found in the higher regions of China (Tibet) and India. There are about 14 million Yak in the area that produces most of the Human Hair that we us for braiding and weaving (95 percent black folks). Should our perception of the folks selling us this hair as Human Hair change, what action can be taken about these lies>

A Recruitment Venue
Why do braiders and cutomers use braiding galleries as a recruitment venue. As the owner/manager of a braiding salon with a great deal of overhead and associated cost, it is unfair for customers and braiders alike to steal from the business. Yes, I said it, steal from the business. I would had to get clients into the business place, and clients recruiting braiders to do their hair outside of the salon is support a parasite (someone living off of someone's efforts).

Braids and Natural Hair Care
Apparently there is the perception that hair braiding is separate to that of natural hair care like dread locks etc. A good braider is not necessarily good at doing dread locs but in many instances it is not the case. When our company first started a few years ago, we had a shampoo bowl and we developed a strong base of dread locs customers and after moving to another locations we lost the use of a shampoo bowl which resulted in the reduction of our dread locs base; the point is that proper natural hair care requires shampoo and other clean procedures that are not often common in a braiding gallery. At Braids Inc, we once again have shampoo facilities and we are welcoming back all of our Happy To be Nappy Sisters and Brothers for Dread Locs and other natural hair care.
Many Braiders are excellent and starting and maintaining Dread Locs, as well as, styling Locs. Braids falls into natural hair styling since chemicals are not used to create the style, and many salons that started off as natural hair care centers have integrated braids and twists because for those who are interested in transitioning from perms in many instances some extensions are required for the transistion.
